General Help Topics
Typically, the shipping amount charged to your customer in your store should match what youโre charged in PrintKK. However, due to a technical limitation, there are two situations where the customer might be charged a different shipping amount.
This guide provides recommended solutions to minimize the impact on your bottom line.
Situations Where Customers Are Charged Differently:
1. Multiple Products with Different Shipping Profiles:
-If an order contains products that are not of the same type or are printed by different Print Providers, they will be shipped separately, resulting in separate full shipping fees for each item.
-Due to a technical limitation, Etsy automatically applies a reduced shipping rate for all orders with multiple products, even if they should be charged separately.
2. Products with Different Variants:
-Items like mugs, posters, and canvases may have different shipping rates based on size or weight.
-Only one shipping rate can be assigned when publishing, so our system assigns the lowest shipping rate to all variants, which may result in customers being slightly overcharged or undercharged.
Recommended Solutions:
For Multiple Products:
-Manually Adjust "Additional Item" Shipping Fee: Increase it by 50% of the difference between the regular and reduced shipping fees for each region.
-Slightly Raise Product Prices: This helps absorb any discrepancies in shipping charges.
For Different Product Variants:
-Adjust Prices of Variants: Modify the prices so the total payment is closer to the actual cost.
-Create Separate Listings: Use different listings for each shipping profile. For example, have separate listings for single postcards and packages of 10.
By implementing these strategies, you can ensure that any discrepancies in shipping charges balance out, protecting your profit margins.
